Our Mission

To bridge molecular discoveries and clinical medicine through cutting-edge genomics, RNA biology, immunology, and precision medicine, enabling innovative diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for rare and complex diseases.

Our Vision

To become an internationally recognized translational research ecosystem that integrates multidisciplinary science, advanced genomic technologies, and clinical innovation for the benefit of patients worldwide.

Our Approach

Translational Medicine Lab (TML) is a multidisciplinary research laboratory at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine, bringing together clinicians and basic scientists to bridge genomic discoveries with clinical medicine.

Our Philosophy

🔭

Curiosity

We ask meaningful scientific questions that challenge existing knowledge and open new paths toward discovery.

🎯

Discipline

We believe rigorous methodology, transparency, reproducibility, and scientific integrity are the foundations of impactful research.

🤝

Collaboration

Scientific breakthroughs emerge from multidisciplinary teamwork, open communication, mutual respect, and shared responsibility.

Six Interconnected
Scientific Programs

Our laboratory is organized around six research programs spanning rare disease genomics, immunology, RNA therapeutics, and precision medicine.

🧬

Rare Disease Genomics

Decoding the genetic basis of rare diseases through long-read sequencing, whole-genome analysis, transcriptomics, and functional interpretation of genomic variation.

🔥

Autoinflammatory Diseases

Investigating the molecular mechanisms of hereditary autoinflammatory disorders through integrated genomics, immunology, transcriptomics, and precision medicine approaches.

👁

Inherited Retinal Diseases

Advancing the diagnosis and treatment of inherited retinal disorders using genomics, transcriptomics, disease modeling, and innovative therapeutic strategies.

🔬

Cancer Genomics

Exploring the genomic architecture of hereditary and sporadic cancers to improve molecular diagnosis, risk assessment, and personalized therapeutic approaches.

🧪

RNA Therapeutics

Developing RNA-based therapeutic strategies including antisense oligonucleotides (ASOs), splice modulation, allele-specific therapies, and RNA precision medicine.

💊

Precision Medicine

Translating genomic discoveries into individualized diagnostics and targeted therapeutic solutions through multidisciplinary translational research.
